All of our Primal Cure soaps are made with 100% organic olive oil, which comprises at least 50% of the soap. We love using olive oil in our soaps as it as a neutral scent, and is rich in skin-friendly vitamins A, D, K and E. Its lipid profile is very similar to human skin, making it an ideal source of moisture for your skin.
Olive oil has a naturally rich content of oleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid which contributes to olive oil's well-known moisturising properties. Olive oil is packed with a high content of "squalene", an oil that mimics our own skin's natural sebum / oil. Combine this with naturally-occurring polyphenols with antioxidant properties, and you can see why we love our natural olive oil soap!
The Ancient Egyptians named the aloe vera plant the ‘plant of immortality’, made from 95% water and 5% potent healthy enzymes. These healthy enzymes contain more than 200 bioactive compounds to aid nutrient absorption in the body.
It’s especially ideal for sensitive or allergy-prone skin. Vitamins C and E help protect the lipid layer of skin and contain antioxidant properties to help repair and build tissue.
Our apricot kernel oil variety is packed with fatty acids such as oleic acid and linoleic acid which act as emollient for skin as well as being associated with strengthening your skin’s barrier function. Vitamin E has been known to preserve the lipid layer of your skin while Vitamin C has also been known to promote collagen production (the main structural protein found in skin). It also as adds a delightful and subtle apricot scent to leave your skin smelling clean and fresh.
Garlic oil contains a naturally occurring chemical called ‘allicin’, which is known to be a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound. It is also a natural source of selenium, another form of antioxidant.
All these properties, plus further antibacterial properties make this friendly olive oil garlic oil soap ideal for using in the kitchen or bathroom. And don’t worry, it doesn’t have a strong garlic smell!
