The peel contains the most nutrients from the lemon, and is high in fat soluble phytonutrients. You can create your own cleaning products with lemon oil, or even add to baking soda as an effective and chemical-free carpet cleaner.
Lemon oil is thought to have microbial and antibacterial properties, making it ideal for cleansing skin, but it’s important to dilute lemon oil to a 2% strength, and only apply once a day in the evening. This is due to the photosensitive nature of lemon oil, so you need to take extra care not to expose skin to the sun if you’ve added lemon to your skin regime. Its cleansing properties make it a popular addition to haircare routine for those who experience greasy hair. Start by adding a couple of drops to your current conditioner and apply to the ends of your hair.
